Sorokdo National Hospital is Korea's only national hospital specializing
in Hansen's disease and celebrated its centennial in 2016.

The 100-year history of Sorokdo moved in line with the changes in Hansen's disease policies in Korea. Sorokdo is a historic place retaining the joys and sorrow of Hansen's disease patients.
Our hospital is devoted to carrying out our mission and roles by collecting, preserving, and managing historical materials related to Hansen's disease to hand them down to next generations; ruminate on the historical value of Korea's Hansen's disease policies, tragic past that victimized Hansen's disease patients, etc.; and utilize them as a venue of human rights education.
We welcome donations of records related to Hansen's disease history of Sorokdo.
Your donations of valuable historical records related to Sorokdo and Hansen's disease will be shared with the public and preserved in the Museum. They will be utilized for compiling the 100-year history of Sorokdo and displayed in history exhibitions of the Museum, thereby contributing to resolving public prejudice against Hansen's disease and enhancing human rights of Hansen's disease patients.
Acceptable items include photographs, records, videos, living supplies, and medical supplies related to Sorokdo.

  • Photographs, records, videos related to Sorokdo.
  • Living supplies and medical supplies that were used in Sorokdo.
  • All other materials related to Hansen's disease history of Sorokdo.
